The grievance of the petitioner is that, despite the erstwhile Board of Directors of the Co-operative Society-in-question having spent its tenure in January, 2022, no steps have been taken for conducting the election thereof till date.

It is contended by learned counsel for the petitioner that a communication was made in writing by the erstwhile Board on November 15, 2021 to the ARCS, Purba Medinipur-II Range, Contai seeking the

elections to be held prior to the expiry of the tenure of the said Board of Directors on January 17, 2022. However, it is submitted, no such steps have yet been taken even after the expiry of the Board's tenure. Learned counsel appearing for the respondent no.2 submits that three months would be a reasonable period for concluding the election process. Since the respondent no.2, that is, the West Bengal Co-operative Election Commission is the responsible Authority for conducting such elections, WPA No.8454 of 2022 is disposed of by directing the respondent no.2 to conclude the election process for appointment of the new Board of Directors of the Bibhisanpur Samabay Krishi Unnayan Samiti Limited, Paschim Bhibhisanpur (Dakshinpara), Bhibhisanpur, Bhagwanpur, District: Purba Medinipur, Pin - 721498 as expeditiously as possible, preferably within August 20, 2022.

There will be no order as to costs.

Urgent photostat certified copies of this order, if applied for, be made available to the parties upon compliance with the requisite formalities.
