Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner submits as follows. In the present case First Information Report was lodged in the year 2010 and the charge sheet was submitted in the year 2012. In spite of these, the proceeding could not be completed till date. The present petitioner is regularly attending the court. However, some other co-accused had remained absconding. But, no steps were taken to split up the trial and conclude the proceedings.

Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the State, in his usual fairness, submits that State could not come in the way if an appropriate direction is passed for expeditious disposal of the case.

I have heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned counsel for the State and have perused the revision petition.

It appears that there is an inordinate delay in concluding the proceeding.

In view of the above, the learned trial court is requested to take appropriate steps including deciding the issue of splitting up of trial and conclude the proceedings as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of one year from this date. The revisional application along with the application being CRAN 4303 of 2020 is disposed of.
