Mr. Bibaswan Bhattacharya ......for the petitioner This is an application seeking an expeditious disposal of a proceeding in a complaint case under Sections 138 and 141 of the N.I. Act.

Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner submits as follows. The petitioner is the complainant in this case. He has filed the petition of complaint in the year 2018. On some pretext or the other, the accused/opposite parties have delayed the proceeding. The accused had approached this Court with a prayer for quashing. However, after sometime, the accused not pressed the application being CRR No. 15 of 2019. The impugned proceeding has remained pending for no fault of the present petitioner.

I have heard the submissions of the learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner and have perused the revision petition.

No prejudice will be caused to anyone if a direction is passed to expedite the proceeding.

It appears that there is an inordinate delay caused in the proceeding, especially considering the fact that the petition of complaint was filed way back in 2018. After all, there is a statutory stipulation in the said Act for an

expeditious disposal of the proceeding.

In view of the above and in the interest of justice, I request the learned trial court to conclude the proceeding as expeditiously as possible without granting any unnecessary adjournment to any of the parties, preferably within a period of six months from the next date of hearing.

With these observations, the revisional application is disposed of.
