W.P.A. 6545(W) of 2020 + CAN 1 of 2020(Old No. CAN 5310 of 2020) Mr. P. K. Pakrashi .... For the Petitioner Mr. Suman Ghosh .... For the CESC The grievance of the petitioner is directed against the failure on the part of the CESC in granting an electricity connection. The petitioner submits that he has made payment of all necessary charges as raised by the CESC.

The respondent No. 2 is represented and submits that there are civil disputes pending between the petitioner and the private respondent and no order ought to be passed.

It is submitted on behalf of the CESC that they have no objection to granting an electric connection to the petitioner and in fact they visited the spot physically but due to resistance on the part of the respondent No. 2 they were unable to give an electric connection to the petitioner.

After hearing the parties I direct the Officer-inCharge, Metiabruz Police Station to give all necessary assistance to the respondent CESC in granting an

electric connection to the petitioner. In doing so, if any cost is incurred by the CESC, the petitioner is directed to pay such cost to the CESC. The entire exercise is to be completed by the CESC with the assistance of the police within a period of three weeks from date.

Accordingly, the writ petition being W.P. 6545(W) of 2020 is disposed of.

Consequently, the application being CAN 1 of 2020 (Old No. CAN 5310 of 2020) also stands disposed of.

There shall be no order as to costs.

Certified copy of the order, if applied for, be given to the parties on compliance of requisite formalities. (Ravi Krishan Kapur, J.)
