It is submitted on behalf of the petitioner that co-accused persons have been granted bail. He is a legal practitioner and had nothing to do with the preparation of the forged power-of-attorney. Learned lawyer for the State submits that the petitioner had disclosed wrong name and address at the time of preparation of the power-of-attorney and played an active role in preparation of the forged document.

We have considered the materials on record prima facie disclosing involvement of the petitioner in secreting his real identity in order to prepare a forged document. In view of the nature of the offence and the prima facie role of the petitioner, who is a legal practitioner, in indulging in nefarious activities by abusing his professional position, we are of the opinion this is not a fit case to grant anticipatory bail to him.

Accordingly, application for anticipatory bail being CRM 5957 of 2020 is rejected.
