The petitioner prays for correction of the Records of Rights. It is alleged on behalf of the petitioner that notwithstanding having made a representation no steps have been taken by the respondent authorities to dispose of the same.

Mr. Mondal appears on behalf of the State respondents and submit that the writ petition is not maintainable since the petitioner has adequate, efficacious statutory remedy in law.

It is further submitted by Mr. Mondal that the petitioner should approach the West Bengal Land Reforms and Tenancy Tribunal in view of the mandatory provisions contained in the West Bengal Land Reforms Act, 1955.

Hence, I find that the writ petition is not maintainable since the petitioner has a statutory, adequate, efficacious remedy and is dismissed. However, there will be no order as to costs.
