The petitioner's allegations in these writ petitions primarily concern the deposits made with Sahara India Credit Cooperative Society Limited under the Golden Double Scheme by the society, respondent No. 6. The petitioner contends that although the deposits have matured, the invested amount has not been returned to the society.
Mr. Srijan Nayak, learned advocate appearing for
respondent No. 2 in WPA 3672/2025, submits that, following the complaint lodged by the petitioner, an enquiry was initiated, and the same has been completed. Subsequently, the petitioner requested the Registrar of Cooperative Societies to initiate proceedings under Section 140 of the West Bengal Cooperative Societies Act, 2006. The petitioner acknowledges that the Registrar has now initiated proceedings under this provision.
Since proceedings under Section 140 of the West Bengal Cooperative Societies Act, 2006, have already been initiated, there is no further scope for this Court to pass additional orders. However, it is expected that the Registrar of Cooperative Societies will conclude the proceedings in accordance with the law.
Accordingly, WPA 3672 of 2025 and WPA 9609 of 2024 are disposed of.
Both writ petitions are disposed of without the exchange of affidavits. The allegations made in both writ petitions shall be deemed to have been denied by the respondents.
