Petitioner is aggrieved by the fact that the information furnished to the police authorities on 06.01.2025 were not acted upon.

Learned advocate appearing for the State has submitted a report. Report reflects that allegations were received on 09.09.2024 against Abidar Mallick (the petitioner), consequent to which Kolaghat Police Station case no. 671/24 dated 09.09.2024 was registered for investigation and on 18.10.2024 the petitioner was arrested. The said news was telecast in Facebook page under the name of 'JB Live News'. The said case has been investigated and charge-sheet has been submitted. Learned advocate appearing for the respondent no.7 is present and opposes the contentions made on behalf of the petitioner.

Petitioner's main grievance is that on 18.10.2024 there has been a broadcast which circulates false information about the present petitioner.

In view of the nature of the accusations, I do not find that any interference by this Court is called for. If the petitioner has materials in his custody he would approach the jurisdictional Magistrate under the relevant provisions of law.

With the aforesaid observations WPA 8942 of 2025 disposed of.

Report so submitted by the State be kept with the record.

Copy of the report be handed over to both the parties.

All concerned parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance with all requisite formalities.
