The petitioner is aggrieved by a FIR No.83/23 dated 12th March, 2023 registered by the Burdwan Police Station under section 341, 325, 307, 506, 34 of the IPC. Section 376(2)(e) of the IPC has been added subsequently.

The investigating officer has examined as many as 12 persons and recorded their statements. The investigating officer also ensured medical examination of the victim.

The brother-in-law, the principal accused, is absconding. The father-in-law has been arrested. 4.

The investigating officer is directed to apply for proclamation and attachment of assets of the absconding accused.

5.

It is expected that the investigation into the FIR is completed as expeditiously as possible preferably within a period of 45 days from date.

With the aforesaid directions, the writ petition shall stand disposed of.

7.

There shall be no order as to costs.

Report of the Officer-in-Charge, Burwan Police Station, Murshidabad Police District dated 16th April, 2023 is taken on record.

All parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.
