The petitioner's daughter is stated to have died in unnatural circumstances a few days after having married to one Ratan Mondal.

A chargesheet has been filed by the Farakka Police Station under Section 498A of the Indian Penal Code inter alia against the said husband and in-laws. The petitioner further complains that the respondent No. 8 herein threatened him for having initiated the said proceedings and told him to withdraw the same.

It is submitted that Non-F.I.R. proceedings under Section 107 of the Code of Criminal Procedure has been drawn up and an undertaking bond has been issued by the Baishnabnagar Police Station and is being placed before the learned Magistrate concerned.

It is expected that the said proceedings under Section 107 of the Code of Criminal Procedure be expeditiously taken up and disposed of by the learned Magistrate concerned preferably within a period of one month from date in accordance with provisions of the Code of Criminal Procedure.

With the above observations, the instant writ petition stands disposed of. Consequently the connected application also stands disposed of.

The report dated 25.08.2020 filed by the State be kept with the record.

There will be no order as to costs.

All parties shall act on the Web copy of this Order accordingly.
