Present petition has been filed for inaction of the respondents regarding prayer for issue of new State Carriage Permit of the petitioner as made by communication dated 18th March, 2026.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner by communication dated 11th March, 2026 issued an offer letter for grant of Permanent State Carriage Permit from Arambagh Bus Stand to Digha Bus Stand subject to compliance of certain condition against vehicle No.WB33A- M/2343.

Learned counsel submits that an appropriate direction may be issued to the Secretary, State Transport Authority, Calcutta, the respondent no.3 for issuance of new state carriage permit.

Learned Government Pleader has fairly submitted that authority shall take reasoned order on the request of the petitioner within a reasonable time in accordance with law.

In view of the discussion made hereinabove there will be no purpose in keeping the matter pending. Hence, the respondent no.3 is directed to consider and decide the prayer for issuance of new State Carriage Permit as communicated by the petitioner by communication dated 18th March, 2026 positively within a period of four weeks in accordance with law after giving the parties an opportunity of hearing. 6.

The order be positively communicated within one week.
