In the matter of : Divya Kapur ..... petitioner Mr. Ayan Bhattacharya ....For the petitioner This is an application for expeditious disposal of the Case No. C/24548 of 2010 under Sections 138/141 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881 pending before the Court of learned Metropolitan Magistrate, 13th Court at Calcutta. It has been submitted by Mr. Ayan Bhattacharya, learned advocate for the petitioner that this case is pending before the learned magistrate for more than 11 years.

I find substance in the submission made by Mr. Ayan Bhattacharya that a case of this nature should not be prolonged for an indefinite period of time.

In view of the innocuous prayer made by the petitioner, I dispose of this revisional application without any direction to serve copy of this application upon the opposite parties. This revisional application is disposed of directing the learned Metropolitan Magistrate, 13th Court at Calcutta to make an endeavour to conclude the trial as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of one year from date without granting any unnecessary adjournments to either of the parties. The revisional application being CRR 1217 of 2021 is disposed of.
