Considering the urgency pleaded by the petitioners in CAN 5409 of 2020, the instant writ petition is taken up for hearing via video conference. Accordingly, the application being CAN 5409 of 2020 is disposed of.

The writ petitioners participated in a meeting of the Bureau of Indian Standards dated 17th June, 2020 wherein they claimed to have contended that the BIS does not have the authority to fix gradation and rates for jute and jute products since the same is covered under the Agricultural Produce (Grading and Marketing) Act, 1937.

The writ petitioners have thereafter made a detailed representation to the BIS.

The BIS is yet to make any publication with regard to such gradation.

This Court is of the view that the writ petition is rather premature and the said issue may be agitated if any appropriate publication is made by BIS.

In view of the aforesaid, the instant writ petition shall stand disposed of.

There will be no order as to costs.

All parties are directed to act on a server copy of this order on usual undertakings.
