1. None appears on behalf of the State respondents despite service.

2. Affidavit-of-service filed in Court today be kept with the records.

3. The petitioners claim to be serving as Self Labour Organizer (SLO).

4. The petitioners made a representation before the respondent authorities seeking certain relief. The same is pending consideration for a considerable period of time.

5. Prayer has been made to direct the Assistant Labour Commissioner, R.L.O., Englishbazar, Malda being the respondent no. 2 herein to consider the prayer of the petitioners in light of the Memo No 295/48/BMSSY/WBUS dated 14.11.2024 issued by the Labour Commissioner, West Bengal.

6. In absence of the respondents it is not possible for the Court to decide the issue conclusively.

7. In view of the above, the instant writ petition is disposed of by directing the respondent no. 2 to consider and dispose of the representation filed on

behalf of the petitioners strictly in accordance with law and in line with the Memo of the Labour Commissioner mentioned hereinabove after giving reasonable opportunity of hearing to all the necessary parties at the earliest but positively within a period of eight weeks from the date of communication of this order.

8. A reasoned order shall be passed and communicated to the parties immediately thereafter.

9. Learned advocate for the petitioners are directed to forward to the aforesaid respondent a copy of the subject representation along with all necessary documents at the time of communicating the order of this Court.

Learned advocate for the petitioners do not want to press the application.

The application being CAN 1 of 2024 stands disposed of.

12. Urgent certified photocopy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties expeditiously on compliance of usual legal formalities.
