1. Affidavit of service is taken on record.

2. The petitioner has preferred the present writ petition, challenging the inaction on the part of the respondent authority in not restoring the water connection to him at his residential premises no. 23/4 Ramlal Mukherjee Lane, Ward no. 15, Howrah Municipal Corporation.

3. It is the case of the petitioner that he along with his father, three sisters and one brother are the joint owners of the said property. It was the further contention of the petitioner that his father and two sisters namely Rajkumari and Bimala, by virtue of deed of gift in the year 2010 transferred and conveyed their respective 1/6th share in the said premises in favour of the petitioner and his brother Bholanath Pal. He further contends that on 10th September, 2024

suddenly water supply of the petitioner's residential 2nd Floor area was disconnected. After that, the petitioner has submitted multiple representations on various dates, most recently and notably on 24.02.2025, drawing attention to the cessation of water supply to his premises. Through these representations, he earnestly urge the concerned authorities to take prompt and appropriate action to resolve the issue and to ensure the immediate restoration of water supply to his premises.

4. Learned counsel for the respondent Corporation submits that the authorities are ready and willing to consider the petitioner's representation dated 24.2.2025, within a time bound manner.

5. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner's grievances would be sufficiently redressed if the aforesaid representation dated 24.2.2024, is decided within a period of four weeks.

6. In view of the same, this court directs the Howrah Municipal Corporation to decide the petitioner's representation dated 24.2.2025, within a period of four weeks from the date of communication of this order after affording an opportunity of personal hearing to the petitioner

as well as all other interested parties by way of a speaking order.

7. With the above direction, the present writ petition is disposed of.
