1. Petitioner prays for anticipatory bail.

2. Learned Advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is not named in the First Information Report. Petitioner was falsely implicated.

3. Learned Advocate appearing for the State draws the attention of the Court to the injury report and to the statement of eyewitnesses.

4. One person suffered injuries in an incident of assault. Apparently, a number of persons including the petitioner were making lewd comments as against a lady. The injured and some other persons intervened whereupon the incident of assault took place.

5. Injured suffered injuries which were classified as grievous hurt. Eye-witnesses to the incident stated that the petitioner before us was involved in such incident of passing lewd remarks as against a lady and also assaulting the injured. Iron punches were used in the incident of assault.

6. Considering the gravity of the offence and the involvement of the petitioner in the incident, we are unable to grant Signed By :

anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

7. Accordingly, the prayer for anticipatory bail of the petitioner is rejected.

8. C.R.M. (A) 1258 of 2024 is dismissed.
