The petitioners are accused of having committed dacoity. Their prayer for bail was rejected by a co-ordinate bench on October 20, 2020.

Learned Advocate for the petitioners submits that they have been languishing in jail for 546 days. They are not the prime accused. Trial has commenced. No useful purpose will be served by further detention of the petitioners. Learned Advocate for the State produces the case diary which we have looked into. The petitioners were identified in T.I. Parade. The trial has progressed substantially. There is a possibility of the petitioners absconding if enlarged on bail. We are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioners at this stage. Accordingly the prayer for bail is considered and rejected. CRM No. 3541 of 2021 is, thus, dismissed.

However, we request the learned Trial Court to conclude the trial as soon as the business of the Court may permit and preferably within one year from date.
