Matter is taken up for consideration in presence of the learned advocates representing the petitioner and the State respondents.

2.

A case is made out in this writ petition that there is a dispute relating to an agreement between the petitioner and private respondent prompting the petitioner to approach this Court with the present writ petition seeking direction upon the concerned police authority for redressal of the grievance. However, prayer is made in this writ petition for completion of investigation.

Mr. Suryaneel Das, learned Additional Government Pleader representing the State respondents has submitted a communication dated 18th June, 2026 of Inspector-inCharge, Mogra Police Station, Hooghly Rural Police District and same is taken on record. Copy of the said communication dated 18th June, 2026 is made over to the learned advocate representing the petitioner. 4.

It is disclosed in the said communication dated 18th June, 2026 that dispute arose between the petitioner and private respondent concerning an agreement relating to sell of property where the sale price was fixed at ₹40 lakh.

[2] However, private respondent is insisting to pay ₹3 lakh less.

5.

Considering the contents of the communication dated 18th June, 2026, it appears that the issue involved in this writ petition is civil in nature.

6.

If petitioner finds that agreement made between the petitioner and the private respondent and terms thereof are not being complied with, in that event, petitioner needs to approach civil court in pursuit of remedy. 7.

Police authority is not appropriate authority to decide niceties relating to violation of terms and conditions of an agreement. Hence, no relief can be granted to the petitioner.
