Report submitted by the learned advocate appearing for the State be kept with the record. The petitioner is aggrieved by the fact that in spite of Khardah P.S. Case No. 736 dated 27.08.2015 pending before the jurisdictional court at Barrackpore, the petitioner has been threatened by the private respondent.

Having regard to the fact that in connection with Khardah P.S. Case No. 736 dated 27.08.2015, charge-sheet was submitted in the year 2016 and the present petitioner happens to be a witness, I am of the view that if the petitioner takes out any application before the court in seisin of the criminal case, the concerned court would call for a threat perception report and thereafter pass necessary directions under the Witness Protection Scheme, 2018.

Report of the police authorities reflects that already a proceeding has been drawn up under

Section 126 of BNSS. Consequently the police authorities are directed to continue their vigil and ensure that no breach of the peace or tranquility takes place at the locale and/or any untoward incident results because of the inimical relationship existing between the petitioner and the private respondents.

With the aforesaid observations, the writ petition being WPA 9147 of 2025 is disposed of. There will be no order as to costs.
