The petitioner prays for appointment as temporary Muslim Marriage Registrar (MMR) in the Sagarpara P.S. area.

Learned advocate appearing on behalf of the State respondents relies upon the instruction forwarded by the OSD & Ex-Officio Joint Secretary, Law Department dated 3rd July, 2024 mentioning that Sagarpara Police Station, District - Murshidabad has been newly created and the District Registrar, Murshidabad will invite application from suitable candidates in due course.

It appears from the aforesaid instruction that none has been appointed as MMR in the said police station area and the authority will take due steps to initiate the recruitment process and the notice inviting application will be issued shortly.

The MMR of the Jalangi Police Station, the adjacent area of the Saragpara Police Station, has currently been given charge of MMR of Sagarpara Police Station for benefit of the public at large.

In view of the above, it will be open for the petitioner to participate in the recruitment process as and when application is invited from the intending candidates for appointment as MMR.

The writ petition stands disposed of.
