Apprehending arrest in connection with Paikar Police Station Case No. 171 of 2020 dated 05-08-2020 under Sections 354(C)/354(D)/509/120B of the Indian Penal Code read with Section 66A/66E of the Information Technology Act, 2000(G.R. Case No.752 of 2020), the present application has been filed.

Mr. Mukherjee, learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner has already deposited his mobile set with the investigating agency and the numbers which belong to him do not tally with the

number which has been narrated in the application under Section 156(3) of the Code of Criminal Procedure. Ms. Bhattacharya, learned advocate appearing for the State opposes the petitioner's prayer and draws the attention of this Court to the statements of four witnesses and tries to emphasise why the custodial interrogation of the petitioner is required.

We have perused the case diary and the statement of witnesses and we are of the opinion that this is not a fit case for extending the privilege of anticipatory bail to the present petitioner.

Accordingly, the prayer for anticipatory bail is rejected.

The application being CRM 6136 of 2020 is, thus, disposed of.
