Affidavit-of-service filed on behalf of the petitioner is taken on record.

Learned advocate representing the petitioner submits that petitioner was beaten up by respondent no.4 on 9th April, 2026 and suffered fracture in right ribs (4th & 8th) and petitioner had to be taken to hospital for administering treatment.

It is also submitted that after lodging complaint with the concerned police station petitioner is being threatened by respondent no.4 as a result whereof prayer is made in this writ petition for providing police protection.

Mr. Das, learned Additional Government Pleader representing the State respondents has filed a communication dated 22nd June, 2026 of Inspector-inCharge, Narendrapur Police Station, Baruipur Police District and same is taken on record. Copy of the communication dated 22nd June, 2026 is made over to

the learned advocate representing the petitioner. 5.

It is disclosed in the communication dated 22nd June, 2026 that there was hot altercation between the petitioner and respondent no.4 and ultimately petitioner suffered fracture injury due to physical assault at the instance of respondent no.4 resulting in lodging of complaint dated 12th April, 2026 and said complaint has already been transformed into an FIR. Criminal prosecution started being Narendrapur Police Station Case No.453/26 dated 12th April, 2026 under certain provisions of BNS, 2023.

It appears from the communication dated 22nd June, 2026 that FIR named accused person obtained anticipatory bail on 15th May, 2026 from learned Sessions Judge, South 24 Parganas. Based on another complaint a counter case was also registered being Narendrapur Police Station Case No.596/26 dated 17th May, 2026.

In view of aforesaid criminal prosecutions initiated by the police authorities, concerned police authorities are directed to take those criminal prosecutions to its logical conclusion by filing charge-sheet before the jurisdictional Magistrate at an early date.

However, as petitioner was alleged to have been beaten up and suffered fracture injury concerned authority of Narendrapur Police Station is directed to

provide necessary assistance to the petitioner in order to avoid untoward incident in future.

The writ petitions stands disposed of.
