The affidavit-of-compliance filed in court today be kept on record. It is submitted on behalf of the alleged contemnor that the order of this court has been fully complied with.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that till date, proper compliance of the order of this court has not been done, since the electricity connection given is perilous.

The parent order of this court directed electricity connection to be given to the petitioner, which has since been given.

From the photographs annexed to the affidavit-ofcompliance, this court finds that a proper connection has been given, taking into consideration the area and the nature of the terrain over which such connection has been given.

Although apprehensions are expressed by the petitioner regarding the safety of the connection, the court, particularly within the limited scope of contempt jurisdiction, is not in a position to ascertain technically as to whether the safety standards have been fully met.

In any event, the Electricity Act makes it the bounden duty of the Distribution Licensee to ensure that safety and all precautionary measures are adhered to while giving a connection and maintaining the same.

This court is of the opinion that there is no reason to apprehend that such safety standards and maintenance shall not be properly complied with by the WBSEDCL.

Be that as it may, since a proper connection has been given to the petitioner in compliance with the order of this court, there is no use in keeping the contempt application and/or the connected Rule pending.

Accordingly, WPCRC 129 of 2025 is discharged.

10. Consequentially, CPAN of stands disposed of.

11. There will be no order as to costs.
