Petitioner seeks new electricity connection.

Learned advocate for the CESC Authorities submit that, due to the resistance by the private respondent no. 6, the CESC Authorities could not effect electric supply to the petitioner. The CESC Authorities seek police protection. The petitioner being in settled possession is entitled to electricity connection. The CESC Authorities will, therefore, take appropriate measures to ensure that the petitioner receive electric supply. The CESC Authorities are at liberty to approach the appropriate police authorities for police assistance in the event the CESC Authorities find any difficulty or resistance in effecting electric supply to the petitioner. The appropriate police authorities are requested to ensure that no breach of peace occurs at the locale and

that adequate police assistance to be rendered to the CESC Authorities in effecting electric supply to the petitioner. The petitioner no doubt will bear the cost and expenses of the police protection as also the cost and charges for the new electric supply. It is expected that the petitioner will receive its new electric supply within a fortnight from date.

W.P.A. 10154 of 2021 is disposed of accordingly without any order as to costs.
