Admittedly, the right of the lessee who is enjoying the jalkar rights has ceased due to expiry of lease deed by efflux of time. It is assured by the State Government that steps will be taken to settle the jalkar rights as per the law.

With such assurance the writ petition is disposed of by directing the State Government to proceed in accordance with law, for settlement of jalkar rights of Pulintola Bhab and Chandipur Mal.

Process shall be initiated within one month from the date of communication of the said order.

WPA No. 9788 of 2024 is, thus, disposed of.

5.

There shall be no order as to costs.

6.

All parties shall act upon the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the website of this Court. (Shampa Sarkar, J.)
