In re: CAN 1 of 2020 (Old No. CAN 5626 of 2020) This application for urgent hearing of the writ petition is disposed of by taking up the writ petition for consideration. Petitioner complains of police inaction.

Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that, although the police have registered a First Information Report being Bolpur Police Station Case No.167/2020 dated July 16, 2020 under Sections 341/325/506/34 of the Indian Penal Code, the incident and the complaint discloses commission of offences under Sections 307 and 326 of the Indian Penal Code. The police should investigate such angles also.

Learned advocate appearing for the State submits that, the police are investigating Bolpur Police Station Case No.167/2020 dated July 16, 2020 under sections 341/325/506/34 of the Indian Penal Code.

In the facts of the present case, since the investigation is not complete and the police are yet to submit their chargesheet, it would be appropriate to request the police authorities to investigate on the angle of Section 307 and Section 326 of the Indian Penal Code also in respect of Bolpur Police Station Case No.167/2020 dated July 16, 2020 in accordance with law. W.P.A. No.6717 of 2020 is disposed of accordingly without any order as to costs.
