The writ petition has been filed for a direction upon the respondent authority to issue an order of appointment in favour of the petitioner on compassionate grounds. The petitioner prayed for such appointment on the demise of his father, who was a panchayat karmee under Sadal Gram Panchayat, District-Murshidabad. The application of the petitioner is pending consideration before the Additional Director of Panchayat and Rural Development, Government of West Bengal.

The petitioner's application for such appointment has been enlisted at serial No.1253. The application of the petitioner was forwarded after checking the enclosures and the documents.

The authority, i.e. the respondent No.2, before whom the matter is pending, is directed to take steps in accordance with law to appoint the petitioner according to seriality and the vacancy position.

This writ petition is, thus, disposed of.

There will be no order as to costs.

All parties are to act on the basis of the server copy of this order.
