Versus
The State of West Bengal Mr. Debabrata Dasgupta, Adv.
...for the Petitioner.
Ms. Sukanya Bhattacharya, Adv.
Md. Kutubuddin, Adv.
...for the State.
The petitioner undertakes to affirm and stamp the petition/application as per the Rules within a month of resumption of normal functioning of the court. Subject to such undertaking, the application is taken up through video conference. CRAN 1 of 2020 (old CRAN 4694 of 2020) is accordingly disposed of. Having considered the materials on record prima facie disclosing involvement of the petitioner in subjecting the victim to forcible sexual assault, we are of the opinion that in view of the gravity of offence this is not a fit case to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.
The application for anticipatory bail is rejected. (Suvra Ghosh, J.) (Joymalya Bagchi, J.)
