The grievance of the petitioner is directed against the refusal of the CESC Limited to provide an electricity connection to the premises of the petitioner.

On behalf of the CESC Limited it is submitted that they are ready and willing to provide such electricity connection but have been physically restrained by the private respondents from providing such connection.

The private respondents are represented and are not in a position to furnish any possible reason or logical basis as to why the electricity connection to the premises of the petitioner should be refused. 4.

In view of the above, WPA 9555 of 2026 stands disposed of by directing the CESC Limited to

provide an electricity connection to the premises of the petitioner in accordance with law and after compliance with all statutory formalities.

The concerned police authorities being the respondent no.4 are directed to provide all possible assistance to the CESC Limited if the circumstances so warrant. Any costs or expenses would be borne by the petitioner exclusively. The above exercise is to be completed within a week from date.
