Heard the learned lawyers for the parties.

We have considered the materials on record. The petitioner had assaulted the victim resulting in serious injury. He had also committed theft. 3.

In view of the principal role played by the petitioner in the alleged offence, we are not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to him.

The prayer for anticipatory bail is, accordingly, rejected.
