The petitioners claim to be engaged as voluntary assistant teachers in different schools in the District of Darjeeling.

They claim that they are entitled to be absorbed as permanent teachers under the G.T.A. in the schools in which they are working.

Without going into further details of the matter, the D.I. of Schools, Darjeeling, respondent no.3, shall consider the request of the petitioner, treating the writ petition itself as a representation, preferably within a period of six months from the date of communication of a copy of this order.

The petitioners may be heard in person or through legal representative. The 3rd respondent, the D.I. of Schools, Darjeeling shall pass a reasoned order

and communicate the same to the petitioners within a period of seven days thereof.

With the above observations, WPA 6798 of 2020 (Old No. W.P. 6798 (W) of 2020) is disposed of. Accordingly, CAN 1 of 2020 (Old No. CAN 5757 of 2020) is also disposed of.

Since, no affidavits have been called for, the allegation contained in the writ petition shall not be deemed to have been admitted.

All parties are to act on a server copy of this order on the usual undertaking.
