The only prayer of the petitioners for a direction on the District Magistrate, Hooghly to dispose of the representation made by the petitioners on 2nd December, 2021 with regard to extension of lease for mining of sand which was executed between the authorities and the petitioners pursuant to the petitioners emerging as a successful bidder in an auction.

The State is represented.

After hearing learned counsel, W.P.A.8779 of 2022 is disposed of with a direction on the District Magistrate, Hooghly being the respondent no.3 to dispose of the representation dated 2nd December, 2021 after hearing the petitioners by way of passing a reasoned order within a period of three weeks from date.
