The petitioner has alleged delay in conclusion of the investigation arising out Burdwan (Sadar) P.S. Case No. 150 of 2022 dated February 11,2022 under Section 420/468/471/34 of the Indian Penal Code. It is the specific contention of the petitioner that initially, the police authorities were hesitant to accept the complaint of the petitioner.
Finding no other alternative, an application was filed under Section 156(3) of the Code of Criminal procedure. Thereafter, on the direction of the learned Magistrate the case was registered by the police authorities. It appears that the respondent no.4 was granted anticipatory bail by the learned Chief Judicial Magistrate, Burdwan.
It is the contention of the petitioner that the police authorities have not taken any steps in the matter.
Further allegation is that the respondent no. 4 has been threatening the petitioner and the police authorities have remained silent.
Under such circumstances, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction upon the Inspector-inCharge, Burdwan Sadar Police Station to complete the investigation in a free and fair manner without unnecessary delay and further ensure that the petitioner does not face any unnecessary threats and harassment, during the pending investigation. Accordingly, this writ petition is disposed of. However, there will be no order as to costs.
All the parties are directed to act on the basis of the server copy of this order.
