And In Re : Shankar Hazari ...... petitioner Mr. Farhat Khan Ms. Soma Naaz ....for the petitioner Ms. Anasuya Sinha Mr. Pinak Kumar Mitra ....for the State The victim in his statement recorded under Section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure states that, he was kidnapped by several persons.

Police seize a hotel register for the particular period when the incident developed. The seizure list shows that, in the hotel register, presence of the petitioner was noted during the period mentioned.

In such circumstances, considering the gravity of the offence and the involvement of the petitioner therein as transpiring from the materials in the case diary, we are unable to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

Accordingly, prayer for anticipatory bail of the petitioner is rejected and the application being CRM (A) 1647 of 2023 is dismissed.
