Mr. Sanjoy Bardhan Ms. Baishakhi Chatterjee .....for the State Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner submits as follows. The scuffle broke out at the time of immersion of Saraswati idol. A suo motu FIR was first lodged by the police, where the petitioner was named. However, in the two subsequent FIRs the petitioner has not been named as an accused.

Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the State relies on the case diary and points to the statements of the two victims, a father and the son. They received serious lacerated injuries on their head. As per the injury report, they were shown as critical at the time of reporting. Both the victims had to be admitted in the hospital and undergo medical treatment.

In view of the nature of injuries inflicted and the statements of the injured victims, I am not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

Accordingly, the application for anticipatory bail is rejected. (Jay Sengupta, J.)
