The order passed by this Bench affirmed by the Hon'ble Division Bench and thereafter affirmed by the Hon'ble Supreme Court is yet to be complied.

A report has been filed by the Officer-inCharge of the Electronic Complex Police Station. The report mentions that the date of demolition was fixed on February 16, 2024 and arrangement of police contingent was made. It was found that a large number of local inhabitants including male, female and children assembled there and made a women shield to resist the demolition programme. A good number of females as well as people poured kerosene on their persons with a view to set fire. The situation aggravated to such extent that loss of life was apprehended.

The Executive Magistrate was present at the spot. The Engineers of the Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation were also present.

Learned advocate representing the police authorities as well as the Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation seek a further opportunity to comply the order passed by the Court.

As last chance time to comply the Court's order is extended till March 19, 2024.

List on March 21, 2024.

It is made clear that in the event, the order is not complied with within the time limit specified hereinabove, then the Court will be constrained to engage separate agency for assistance to implement the order passed by the Court.

Report filed by the Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation be also retained with the records. ( Amrita Sinha, J.)
