The petitioner submits that the authorities conducted an enquiry in respect of the eligibility of the petitioner for being appointed under the died-in-harness category in place of his deceased father Subal Bagdi. The petitioner's father was a gram panchayat karmee in Gundiria gram panchayat. No information has yet been received by the petitioner in this regard, although considerable time has lapsed. The writ petition is disposed of with a direction upon the District Panchayats and Rural Development Officer, Murshidabad to intimate the petitioner the fate of his application for being granted compassionate appointment. Such intimation shall reach the petitioner within a period of eight weeks from the date of communication of this order. This Court has not gone into the merits of the claim of the petitioner.

Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of. However, there will be no order as to costs.

All the parties are directed to act on the basis of the server copy of this order.
