The claim of the petitioner pertains to family pension benefits of her deceased husband.

On behalf of the respondent bank a Report has been filed in Court wherein it appears that a rival claim has been made by one Chinmoyee Biswas claiming to be the lawful wife of the deceased late Nikhil Chandra Biswas. It appears from the Report that the PPO nomination is in favour of the petitioner, namely, Sipra Biswas.

In such circumstances, the Appropriate Authority being the Branch Manager of the Central Bank of India i.e. respondent no.2 is directed to take a decision after hearing all the parties.

It is made clear that there is no adjudication of the merits of the case and the Branch Manager who is the Appropriate Authority is requested to consider

the claim after hearing both the parties in accordance with law.

The aforesaid exercise is to be completed within eight weeks from the date of communication of this order.

With the aforesaid directions, WPA 9226 of 2023 stands disposed of.
