The petitioner is in custody for about three years and prays for bail.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the co-accused have been granted bail by this Court earlier. Learned counsel for the State opposes the prayer. I have perused the material on record. Eye witness to the incident Rahul Ghosh has implicated the petitioner as the principal assailant in his evidence before the learned trial Court. It appears that the petitioner dealt the fatal blows on the victim, which resulted in his death. The trial is at its fag end and the eye witness is being examined as stated by the learned counsel for the State as well as the petitioner. In view of the material on record connecting the petitioner to the crime, prayer for bail is rejected at this stage. Learned trial Court is directed to expedite the trial without granting any unnecessary adjournment to either of the parties. The application for bail is disposed of.
