Mr. Indranil Halder ...for the petitioner Mr. Rajiv Lall ...for the CESC Limited The grievance of the petitioner is that, despite the petitioner, who is the new owner of the premises-inquestion, having applied for a new electricity connection in the name of the petitioner, the CESC Limited has not given such connection as yet.

Learned counsel appearing for the CESC Limited draws the attention of the Court to annexure P1 at page 10 of the writ petition, from which it is evident that the CESC Limited refused to give such connection on the ground of apprehended splitting of load. In the event the petitioner is aggrieved with such decision of the CESC Limited, it is open for the petitioner to approach the appropriate forum, that is, the concerned Grievance Redressal Officer with the same complaint.

Hence, W.P.A. No. 8896 of 2022 is disposed of by granting such liberty to the petitioner.

If such an approach is made by the petitioner, the Grievance Redressal Officer shall decide the issue, in accordance with law, as expeditiously as possible, preferably within eight weeks from the date of reference, subject to the law of limitation and without being unduly influenced by any of the observations made herein.

There will be no order as to costs.

Urgent photostat certified copies of this order, if applied for, be made available to the parties upon compliance of all necessary formalities.
