The report reflects that on 26.11.2024, the investigating officer arrested the accused Balai Basak and he was forwarded to the learned jurisdictional Court, when the learned jurisdictional court was pleased to allow the police custody of the accused till 1st of December, 2024.

The investigating authority have also

recorded the statements and proceeded with the investigation of the case.

In view of the spirit and purpose for which the writ petition has been preferred regarding the inertness of the police authorities, so far as the progress of English Bazar Police Station Case No.

of dated 13.02.2022 is concerned, I am of the view that the police authorities, at present, are progressing with the investigation of the case.

The police authorities would put in efforts to take the investigation of the case to its logical conclusion within a reasonable period of time.

With the aforesaid observations, WPA 9262 of 2023 is disposed of.

Pending application(s), if any, is also disposed of.

Let a copy of the report be handed over to the learned advocate for the petitioner.
