Affidavit-of-service filed on behalf of the petitioners is taken on record.

It is submitted by the learned advocate representing the petitioners that petitioners were abducted by the respondent nos.7 & 8 and subsequently, rescued by the police authorities resulting in lodging complaint with the concerned police station which gave rise to a criminal prosecution being Kasba P.S. Case No.188 dated 11th April, 2026 under certain provisions of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023.

However, dissatisfaction is expressed on behalf of the petitioners relating to the manner of investigation in connection with the aforesaid criminal prosecution being conducted by the concerned police authority.

Learned advocate representing the respondent nos.7 & 8 submits that respondent nos.7 & 8 were duped by the petitioners causing investment of sum and subsequently they were implicated in a kidnapping case.

Mr. Suryaneel Das, learned Additional Government Pleader representing the State respondents has filed a

[2] copy of the writing of Officer-in-Charge, Kasba Police Station, Kolkata and same is taken into record. 6.

It is disclosed in the said writing that based on the complaint lodged by the petitioners, though a criminal prosecution being Kasba P.S. Case No.188 dated 11th April, 2026 under certain provisions of BNS was initiated against the private respondents but the private respondents are on ad interim bail till 1st September, 2026. 7.

It is also disclosed in the said writing that several electronic and documentary evidence were collected during investigation.

In view of steps taken by the investigating agency and taking note of the complaint lodged by the petitioners, concerned investigating agency is directed to take the investigation in connection with Kasba P.S. Case No.188 dated 11th April, 2026 to its logical conclusion at an early date by taking steps, in accordance with law and file charge-sheet before the jurisdictional Magistrate. 9.

Writ petition stands disposed of.
