The petitioner is in custody for three years and ten months and prays for bail.

Learned counsel for the petitioner points out that there are discrepancies in the evidence of the defacto complainant and the allegations stand on a weak footing.

Opposing the prayer for bail, learned counsel for the State submits that the petitioner has criminal antecedents in the State of Jammu & Kashmir of which he is a resident. Fourteen witnesses have been examined and the prosecution proposes to examine three more witnesses.

Considering the material on record suggesting prima facie involvement of the petitioner in the offence as well as stage of trial, prayer for bail is rejected at this stage.

Learned trial Court is directed to take the proceeding to its logical conclusion as expeditiously as possible, without granting any unnecessary adjournment to either of the parties, in accordance with law.

The application for bail is disposed of.
