The Durgapur Projects Limited and others Mr. Ayan Banerjee, Mr. Suman Banerjee ...for the petitioner Mr. Sujit Sankar Koley ... for the respondents.

The petitioner has retired from service of the Durgapur Projects Limited on 30.11.2016.

The petitioner was paid gratuity and leave salary on 08.02.2018. The petitioner claims interest on delayed payment of gratuity and leave salary.

A similar issue was considered by this Court in W. P. A. 9030 of 2021 (Arun Chandra Mondal Vs. the Durgapur Projects Limited) which was disposed of by the order dated 16th April, 2021.

For the reasons already contained in the aforesaid order of this Court, the respondents are directed to pay interest to the petitioner at the rate of 6 per cent per annum on and from 30.11.2016 till 08.02.2018 within a period of four months from the date of communication of a copy of this order.

With the aforesaid observations, the writ petition is disposed of.

There shall be no order as to costs.

All parties are directed to act on a server copy of this order.
