(Through Video Conference) Mr. Jahar Lal De, Mr. Shamim-ul-Bari ..for the State This writ petition has been filed raising a grievance that in the Government Teachers' Training Colleges in the State the Principals of the colleges are appointed who do not have the requisite qualification. In this background, a prayer was made to issue a direction to the competent authority to ensure that the college fulfilled the norms before getting the revised recognition for the next academic session of 2015. After filing of the petition more than six years have passed and the learned counsel for the State has informed that West Bengal College Service Commission Act, 2012 has been amended in 2017 which takes care of the grievance of the petitioner.

In this background, we do not think it proper to keep the petition pending specially when no one has come to prosecute the petition on behalf of the petitioner.

Hence, we dispose of the present petition by

granting liberty to the petitioner to approach the respondent no.2 if he has any surviving grievance. On filing such representation the respondent no.2 will duly consider the same and will take an appropriate decision in accordance with law without any delay.
