Sabir Ahmed ... for the State Mr. Uttam Basak ... for CISF As per the report dated 09.01.2021 submitted by the Inspector of Police, Anti Human Trafficking Unit, CID, West Bengal, though the major woman who is allegedly missing has not been traced out, it is noted that she was in a relationship with a particular person and investigation by several persons including the said person reveals that this may be a case of elopement rather than illegal detention or unlawful custody. On the whole, we are satisfied with the manner in which the investigation is going on and it should be left to the criminal Court and investigating team to further go ahead with due process. Hence, we do not think that any purpose would be served by keeping this writ petition pending as this is an application for issuance of a writ in the nature of habeas corpus.

This writ petition is ordered directing that due investigation shall vigorously follow and efforts shall be made to trace out the missing person and to do the

needful in the event of commission of any crime being detected.

Accordingly, the writ petition being WPA 7697 of 2015 is disposed of.
