The petitioner is an Institute of General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) courses, it has applied to be upgraded to a B.Sc. Nursing College. The petitioner is alleging that though the deficiencies in upgrading the said Institute pointed out by the West Bengal University of Health Sciences have been removed but its application has not yet been attended.

Mr. D.N. Maiti, learned advocate for the University submits that all the deficiencies have not yet been removed, he files a letter dated July 07, 2025 addressed to the Principal of the petitioner Institute wherein the deficiencies detected on inspection have been pointed out with remarks.

Mr. Karar, learned advocate for the petitioner submits that the Institute shall remove the said deficiencies so pointed out, but the

prayer of the petitioner Institute for upgradation may be directed to be disposed of.

The University, upon being satisfied regarding removal of the deficiencies and payment of requisite fees, shall take appropriate steps for disposal of the application of the petitioner Institute for upgradation to an institute of B.Sc. Nursing College in accordance with law expeditiously.

WPA 9485 of 2025 is disposed of with the above terms without any order as to costs.

It is, however, made clear that this Court has not gone into the veracity of the deficiencies pointed out in the letter dated July 7, 2025. Parties to act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.
