The petitioner's prayer for appointment of Muslim Marriage Registrar (MMR) under the Basirhat sub-division is alleged to be kept pending.

Learned counsel for the State submits, upon instructions from the District Registrar, North 24 Parganas dated April 26, 2024, that the District Registrar has not issued any public notice/advertisement for declaring vacancy for the post of MMR in any of the police stations under the Basirhat sub-division. As per records, there is no vacancy in any post of MMR under the area.

As it appears that the representation of the petitioner is pending consideration at the end of the concerned authority, accordingly, the instant writ petition stands disposed of by directing the District Registrar to communicate the reasoned decision on consideration of the said representation in accordance with law at the

earliest, but positively within a period of four weeks from the date of communication of this order.

Learned counsel for the petitioner shall forward a copy of the subject representation to the District Registrar at the time of communicating this order. 5.

Affidavit of service filed in Court be taken on record. The instructions filed by the District Registrar North 24 Parganas dated April 26, 2024 be also taken on record.

All parties are to act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.
