The petitioners pray for a direction on the Jalangi Police Station to register FIR in respect of a complaint dated 18th April, 2022.

Learned counsel for the State has produced a report in the form of instructions issued by the Officer-in-Charge, Jalangi Police Station, Murshidabad addressed to the learned Government Pleader and the same is taken on record. 3.

It appears from the report that upon receipt of the petitioners' complaint, Jalangi Police had conducted enquires and found no cognizable offence to disclose.

There is a long-standing dispute with regard to a land between the petitioners and the private respondents. The complaint, in fact, indicates as such.

In that view of the matter, the petitioners may take out civil proceedings in respect of the grievances against the private respondents.

In the event cognizable offence is disclosed in any further complaint that the petitioners may lodge a complaint against the private respondents and if no steps have been taken by the police, the remedies under section 156(3) of the CrPC may be availed by the petitioners.

With the aforesaid directions, the writ petition shall stand disposed of.

There shall be no order as to costs.
