It appears that the petitioner has certain civil disputes with the private respondents and one Balaram Yadav. The parties are at liberty to proceed under the civil laws before the appropriate forum.

Insofar as the WhatsApp messages of threat and extortion are concerned, it is reported by the Officer-in-Charge, Cyber Crime Police Station, Howrah City Police, Howrah that the petitioner could not produce the original WhatsApp messages from his mobile. Hence, the police cannot proceed with investigation since offences under which the proceedings

could have been initiated are non-cognizable. The Officer-in-Charge, Cyber Crime Police Station has said that in the event, the petitioner receives any further threat, he should approach them and without deleting the data in the WhatsApp. Portal.

This Court is satisfied that Cyber Crime Police Station and Golabari Police Station have taken steps. With the directions on the two police stations to ensure that there is no disturbance to take steps immediately in the event of receipt of any complaint of the petitioner, the instant writ petition is disposed of.

There shall be no order as to costs.
